Summer Picnic

There is nothing more fun than getting together with your girls, finding some sunshine, and enjoying each others company with a simple cheese spread.

With the sun deciding to show up to the party these days (in Seattle that can be a rare thing!) we’ve been trying to spend more time outside and savor every bit of vitamin D we can. We decided a sweet summer picnic was the way to go.

I headed to Trader Joe's to pick up all of the goodies for my little cheese board. We decided to pair our board to Julia’s Dazzle Rose. I am honestly not a huge Rose fan, I find it to be too sweet most of the time. However, I was pleasantly surprised as this one had more guava notes to it and it wasn’t too sweet at all. It was nice and light - new favorite of mine!

In the basket we packed french baguettes, sesame crackers, fig crackers and paired it with brie and goat cheese with honey! We kept it simple but added sweeter flavors in the fruits: figs, strawberries, purple grapes, etc. I always like to provide multiple drink options so I went with a pellegrino sparkling water.

If you wanted to get more comfy with your afternoon picnic:

Throw some fun mix-matched pillows in there! Try multiple baskets with different shapes, and keep the food light and the colors bright.
