As a relaxing way to start the day together, Brady and I made a promise to dedicate at least two early mornings each week to each other and our relationship. Normally this means early morning coffee and good conversation before we head off to work, but this week we decided we would catch the sunrise together!
Brady and I are lucky to live really close to Lake Washington, making it a super easy drive to a nearby dock or beach. This morning we got up early, packed some good morning goodies, and headed out before the world came to life!
We laid out this light blue blanket and a couple oversized outdoor pillows to sit on while we watched the sunrise. Our picnic wouldn’t be completed without the tasty bites; we set up our drinks, fresh fruit, my favorite blueberry scones from Trader Joes, and Brady’s favorite, croissants! The air was crisp and the water was still, it was such a great way to refresh before the sunny weekend.
I like to keep a lot of my clothing as lightweight as possible, unless (of course) it’s cold and pouring in Seattle, in which case layers on layers are my thing. I threw on this blue floral wrap dress, that continues to be a favorite of mine because it is super lightweight and super cute.
Picnics are one of my favorite ways to enjoy the time a little bit more – and the easiest if you don’t have the space to entertain. There’s always an empty space nearby waiting to be dressed up. Whether it’s for a morning picnic like this one or a girls date like this one here. Find an empty space and make it your own!
