My Favorite Drugstore Dupes!
I ran out of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade (Shade: Dark Brown) and had no time to run to across the city to Sephora, so I pulled out the Loreal Frame and Set, I had sitting in my drawer, applied it, and wore it happily. I ended up loving this product so much that I wore it for the next two weeks, before I went to grab my beloved Dark Brown pomade by Anastasia. This got me thinking, “what the heck else is hiding in my makeup stash and in those drugstores that I’d love?”
Now I love my higher-end beauty products and to me, they’re worth it because the quality is great. But, I do have a few drugstore products that I love just as much! And if this little pomade helped me in my time of need, what else can I find for a gorgeous price out there?
I’m really loving the new Neutrogena Hydro Boost Plumping Mascara because it’s loaded with Hyaluronic Acid! It’s used to hydrate and promote repair which is something we forget about when it comes to lashes!
I love using this mascara for an everyday look – the application is easy, it doesn’t clump, it’s a nice jet black, and the price of $8.99 isn’t much to complain about!
As I said a second ago (in the previous paragraph), I pulled this little gem out of my drawer when I ran out of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade (Shade: Dark Brown) and ended up using this product for a full two weeks! I have even added it in the rotation of current makeup. This product glides on perfectly and stays on all day (no lie).
I have found that with brows, the brush is equally as important as the a actual products you used. I’ve tried many brow brushes but this one is my favorite at the moment. You can get it here at Sephora for $18.00!
One product that I’ve never really spent the money on is liquid eyeliner. Eyeliner is an occasional product for me and the Elf Liquid Eye Liner is my favorite and it’s literally $3.00! I’ve tried a few different drugstore liquid liners and this one took the cake! With a liquid liner, the little brush at the end and the way the little tube sits in your hand is more important! The bristles for this liner stay in place and they’re soft so you can glide the liner right on. I am not a big fan of the liquid liners that have that angled peak like applicator. This one is perfect!
If you are wanting a waterproof one, I wouldn’t suggest this liner. I would actually suggest the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner! Kat Von D doesn’t mess around with that tattoo name – she means business.
For this product I had to look far outside of my makeup bag. I love a good blush, I always opt for no shimmer, lots of pigment, and an easy application. To be honest, I haven’t used a blush from the drugstores in years, so I made sure it really has my stamp of approval!
After trying a few different ones, I really love the Revlon Powder Blush in Ravishing Rose! With any new product especially blush, always go in with your brush very lightly on the apples of your cheeks – just to be sure you don’t accidentally over do it. I thought this product gave a lovely fresh look, while not being heavy by any means.
When it comes to products for my lips, I promise you, I’ve tried it all. From Bite’s Agave lip mask, Bite Lip Balm, Fresh Sugar Nourishing Lip Balm (Advanced Therapy), Aquaphor, Lush Products, Carmex, Softlips, EOS, Nivea, Hydrating lip masks – I mean literally. If it’s been made for lips, I’ve tried it. From high end to lower end, the best two products I have ever found are the Kari Gran Lip Whips and Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment. If I could buy either of these products in bulk, I would.
Now if you’re on a budget and you don’t want to spend $16.00 on the Kari Gran Lip Whips, I highly suggest you use the Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment that you can get in a 3 pack for less that $4.00! With this product I notice a difference in like 10 minutes and it lasts. With other products, I will notice that my lips are hydrated and once the lip balm has dried, my lips dry with it also.
